Monday 24th Wednesday 26th November

Hello girls, how are you? Thinking about Thanksgiving? I hope you enjoyed this History Lesson, you told me you didn't know about that so we watched this video, read about the first Thanksgiving and had a chat on the topic. You became a bit impressed when knowing about the Native...  well, let's not speak about it more.

These days we had done a very good job when talking about your free time activities. Your homework was really really good (congratulations!) And we started revising adverbs of frequency. You have a couple of activities related to this, so if you have any problem we will see next week in detail and we can do some more exercises, ok?

And also we have clear ideas about our Christmas project. I think is like this:

RAQUEL : FRANCE
BEGOÑA: AUSTRIA
Mª JESUS: CHILE
Mª PAZ : USA

I'm sure you will have fun when investigating other traditions and figuring out how to prepare a delicious dessert; I trust you and I know you'll do your best. And as we said in class last day, you cn use the blog to post some comments, or upload photos or songs or things like that; it's easy to share all the information and very useful, please... try, ok?

Be good, have fun, see you in class!!

Bye!!

Monday 17th Wednesday 19th November

Hi ladies! How are you? Enjoying your free time? Well, that's what I hope, this way you'll be ready to talk next day about it, do you remember? It's your homework, to prepare and rehearse a bit this short monologue about the things you like doing in your free time, not only hobbies but also activities you can do (you can afford, you have the chance and so on...) Just in case you have any doubt here you have the mindmap we created in class:

MY FREE TIME ACTIVITIES:

1- THINGS I LIKE DOING  (here you say why you like those things and give your personal opinion)
2- THINGS I DO IN MY FREE TIME (here you explain how often, where, who with)
3- THINGS I'D LIKE TO DO (here you talk about the things you'd do if having the chance, whatever the kind)

Remember to use voc learnt in class (reading, eating out, working out at the gym, listening to music, dancing, taking photos...) adverbs of frequency and time expressions:

I hope this refresh your mind!. I'm sure you'll do your best.

Be good, have fun, see you in class!!

Bye

Monday10th Wednesday 12th November

Hello girls, how are you? hope everything's right after these days... some of you had an "extra" day in your weekend, happy for you!

Well, this week we have had very good sessions, full of listening and speaking activities. You have done a very good job with THERE IS and THERE ARE when describing houses and furniture, Both your homework and your class activities have been really good.

We have learnt a lot of furniture voc and he have revised prepositions of place. For homework you will finish the writing in the worksheet I gave you.You will describe your neighbourhood saying the things you have. You  will use there is/isn't , there are/aren't and voc related to shops.

To finish the last class we played "Say 4 things game" and we had lots of fun. I really enjoyed that part because it was a long time since we played a game for the last time... I guess that you felt like to, right?

Ok, that's all for today.

Be good, have fun, see you in class!!

Monday 3rd Wednesday 5th November

Hi ladies! Here we are again waiting for the weekend to have a little rest... right? Well, let's see if we have all the time we need to do all the things we would like to. We'll see next day.

This week we have introduced "The House" as a topic. Last week we mentioned things related to this just because of Halloween, haunted houses and so on; but it's now the topic. So we have been working with voc and the structure THERE IS/THERE ARE in all forms (positive, negative, interrogative) We have spoken a lot about our houses, we have listened to lots of activities and in general you have done a very good job. You're improving week after week and that's always great!

We will continue working with this structure when describing your house. Remember that for homework I asked you to draw the plan of your house and then explain with some detail to the class... I know it could be a bit difficult so here you have an example:

I'm sure you'll try your best. You describe your house using there is a balcony, but there isn't a garden; there are two bathrooms... etc

Be good, have fun, see you in class!

Bye!
